Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase has felicitated with the governor of Plateau state, and chairman northern governors forum, Rt. Hon Simon Lalong as he clocks 57 years.
Wase’s congratulatory message to the governor, is contained in a press statement issued by his chief Press Secretary, Umar Muhammad Puma.
The Deputy Speaker, in the message described Lalong as an exemplary and unassuming leader, who has been able to unite the people of the state irrespective of their religious, ethnic and cultural diversity.
He said the governor exudes simplicity, selflessness and uncommon commitment in his relentless pursuit to achieve peace and development in the state.
“Since coming into office in 2015, His Excellency has worked assiduously to create an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the state.
“He has successfully done this by carrying along every stakeholder and given every citizen of the state a sense of belonging in the scheme of things”, he stated.
Wase, who acknowledged the developmental strides of Governor Lalong noted that the state has witnessed geometric progress in human capital, socio-economic and infrastructural development in the last five years.
The Deputy Speaker also described the governor as a “loyal party man, great mobiliser and strategist who has been able to stand tall in the comity of other state chief executives noting that “as chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Rt. Hon. Lalong has done very well in coordinating affairs of the 19 Northern states”.
He prayed the Almighty God to protect, preserve and grant him many more fruitful years of selfless and meritorious service to the state and the nation at large.
“May the Almighty God continue to be your strength and may He grant you good health and wisdom to continue to steer the ship of leadership in the state, northern Nigeria and the nation as a whole.
“It is my prayer that you may enjoy many more productive years of life, so that you an continue to contribute to the development of mankind generally”, he said.
