Victor Osimhen sacks agent after failed transfer to Chelsea

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has officially parted ways with his agent, Roberto Calenda, after unsuccessful attempts to secure a transfer to Al Ahli or Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Osimhen was linked with both clubs, with Al Ahli reportedly agreeing to a deal with Napoli worth €70 million plus €10 million in bonuses.

The arrangement included a lucrative contract for Osimhen, offering €40 million in annual wages and a manageable release clause for a potential return to Europe.

However, negotiations fell through when Napoli requested an additional €5 million, leading Al Ahli to withdraw from the deal.

Frustrated with the outcome, Osimhen questioned Calenda’s competence in navigating the transfer market, prompting him to seek new representation.

Currently, Osimhen is closing in on a loan move to Galatasaray, which he is negotiating personally alongside Turkish intermediary George Gardi.

The agreement is set to be a straight loan until the end of the season, with a break clause available in January.

This development marks a significant shift for Osimhen as he looks to ensure his career progresses in the desired direction.
