UNICEF calls for collective action against child mortality in Nigeria

A renowned actor and the Global Champion for UNICEF, Ali Nuhu has issued a powerful call to action for Nigerians to address the critical issue of maternal and child mortality in the country.

Speaking at a recent two-day workshop in Kano, organized for Social Behaviour Change (SBC) state facilitators, Nuhu emphasized the need for a unified effort to tackle these pressing challenges.

The workshop focused on various initiatives including boosting immunization efforts, combating early child marriage, supporting polio eradication, and addressing gender-based violence.

Nuhu’s message highlighted the importance of community involvement in these areas, aiming to foster a collaborative approach to improving child health and well-being across Nigeria.

The meeting also underscored the need to address issues such as sexual violence, birth registration, caregiving, and stigma, ensuring comprehensive support for children and families.
