Tragic accident claims lives of soldiers during training in Lagos

A tragic accident occurred on Friday morning in Yaba, Lagos State, claiming the lives of an unconfirmed number of soldiers from Myoung Barracks.

The incident reportedly happened during the soldiers’ routine physical training when a vehicle, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, rammed into the group.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as devastating, with military personnel and emergency responders arriving swiftly to assess the situation and provide assistance.

One of the soldiers at the scene described the aftermath, saying,

“There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back.”

The soldier, whose name has been withheld, recounted that the car carried three young men suspected to be internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Boys.”

He further explained that the crash took place near the Myoung Barracks Army Sports Camp. Following the incident, one of the occupants fled the scene, while the remaining two were apprehended and severely beaten by onlookers. Their vehicle was also vandalized in the chaos that ensued.
