Tinubu demands accountability, orders ministers to brief Nigerians on govt policies

In a bid to foster transparency and accountability, the Federal Government has introduced ministerial press briefings to keep Nigerians informed about governance activities.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this announcement during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday. He revealed that President Bola Tinubu had directed all ministers to periodically engage with the media, providing updates on their policies, projects, and achievements.

Idris emphasized that the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to open communication and public engagement. Ministers will take turns weekly to address Nigerians as part of this ongoing program.

The launch of the ministerial press briefings coincides with preparations for the second anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration.

It aims to reinforce the government’s dedication to transparency and ensure that citizens are well-informed about its developmental agenda.
