A tragic car accident on Sunday claimed the lives of a family of four returning from Christmas and New Year celebrations in Benue State.
The incident, which occurred in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, has left their community in shock and mourning.
Victor Tyohemba, an Abuja-based accountant, his wife, a lawyer, and their two young children were en route to Abuja when their vehicle reportedly suffered a mechanical failure, causing it to overturn.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the car caught fire shortly after the crash, leaving the victims unrecognizable due to severe burns.
The heartbreaking loss has devastated their extended family and community. On Monday, the remains of the family were laid to rest in Igbor village, Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State.
At the emotional burial ceremony, grief-stricken relatives and friends gathered to bid farewell to the family. Tears flowed freely as the casket containing their remains was lowered into the ground, symbolizing the tragic end of a once-promising family.
