
Suspected bandits attacked Dogon Ruwa Community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State on Monday, abducting a husband, his wife, and their child.
The invasion, which occurred around 11 a.m., triggered panic as residents fled for safety. A reliable source reported that two individuals sustained gunshot injuries during the attack.
Confirming the incident, Shapi’i Sambo, a local youth leader, revealed that the gunmen stormed the community, firing sporadically to scare residents before abducting their victims.
He further stated that security personnel and local vigilante groups have launched a search operation in the surrounding bush to rescue the kidnapped family and apprehend the attackers.
He said,
“When the gunmen arrived the community, people were going about their normal activities. The gunmen started shooting sporadically to disperse residents.
“Many people fled to safety. Unfortunately, a man, wife and child were abducted. The armed men came with sophisticated weapons”.
He added that the two injured persons have been taken to hospital in Dogo Ruwa for treatment.
Meanwhile, spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alabo Alfred has not responded to inquiry by our correspondent regarding the incident as at the time of filling this report.
