The House of Representatives is to initiate sue the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio for perjury.
Speaker of the House, Representative Femi Gbajabiamila told his colleagues at plenary on Thursday that he has instructed the Clerk of the House to engage the service of lawyers to initiate perjury proceedings against the Minister after he failed to respond to the House request to publish the list of members who got contracts from the NDDC.
Gbajabiamila said the House will also initiate civil proceedings against the Minister, nothing that as a speaker he will not allow anyone tarnish the image of the House
He said the leadership of the House will resist any attempt to assasinate the character of the House from any quarter no matter who is involved.
He said the Minister has failed to respond to the request of the House to publish the list of members of the House who benefited from the contracts he claimed under oath to have been awarded to lawmakers.
