Habu Sani, the deputy inspector general of police in charge of the Kogi State governorship election, has issued an order prohibiting anyone from moving or escorting their principals during the period of vehicular movement restrictions.
This includes security personnel attached to political figures, public officers, and celebrities throughout the state.
He issued a warning, saying that any officer found to be in violation of the order by escorting public officials, political figures, or any other celebrity to the voting places will be taken into custody and dealt with appropriately.
This was said in a statement made on Friday evening by SP William Aya, the public relations officer for the state police.
He said the DIG appealed to VIPs, and others to note this order so as to avoid any embarrassment that might befall them.
“The police and other security agencies will not allow any security breach during the period of the election” he added.
