The member representing Ose State Constituency in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olatunji Emmanuel Oshati (Maxima), has condemned the murder of a Naval rating attached to the Naval Secondary School, Imeri, by some suspected youths in Idoani.
The lawmaker expressed grief and shock over the unfortunate incident in a statement on Tuesday.
Oshati commiserated with the family of the deceased and the Nigerian Navy, “especially, the commandant, Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Imeri, who he said has been a dependable ally in the community.
He applauded the command for showing understanding in its deployment of “a reasonable force, a situation he added has helped a great deal in facilitating the arrest of all the three fleeing suspects.
Oshati also commended the Alani of Idoani, Oba (retired general) Olutoye; and his council of chiefs “for their prompt action and sincerity of purpose by leaving no stone unturned in the search for the fleeing suspects who have all been successfully arrested by the security agencies.
Oshati called for calm and urged the Nigerian Navy “that is known for professionalism and exemplary good relations with civilians” to exercise restraints as the suspects have been apprehended.
He, however, called on parents to rein in their children and advised the youths to shun acts of hooliganism and criminalities.
