NYSC announces N77,000 monthly allowance for corps members starting February

Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has revealed that corps members will begin receiving an increased monthly allowance of ₦77,000 from February 2025.

Ahmed made the announcement on Thursday while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State.

He assured the corps members that the pay raise has already been factored into the Federal Government’s 2025 budget and will be implemented once the budget receives approval.

“This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is passed. By next month (February), you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the usual N33,000,” he stated.

He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to ensuring the well-being and security of corps members and urged them to show commitment in their service.
Additionally, Ahmed assured corps members that they would not be deployed to areas facing security threats.

“We will not send our corps members to wherever we have challenges of security threats. Wherever we send them, they should be less assured that the place is safe and secured for them to serve,” he said.
