Novak Djokovic withdraws from Serbia’s Davis Cup tie due to hamstring injury

World number six and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from Serbia’s Davis Cup tie against Denmark due to a hamstring injury.

The tennis star faced backlash from some Australian Open fans last week after retiring from his semi-final match against Alexander Zverev, having lost the first set due to the injury. Djokovic later shared an MRI scan image, revealing the severity of the injury to his left hamstring.

The Serbian team is set to face Denmark in a crucial first-round qualifying tie starting this Friday. Djokovic’s absence is a significant blow, considering his previous contributions to Serbia’s Davis Cup success, including their historic victory over France in Belgrade in 2010.
