NEC begs NLC to postpone planned nationwide strike

The National Economic Council (NEC) has voiced serious worry about the impending strike by organized labor and the implications of such actions on the national economy at such a critical juncture.

As a result, the NEC has advised all members of the council to expand their options for engagement with labor leaders in their respective states in order to prevent the anticipated industrial disruption.

This was one among the decisions agreed at the NEC conference, presided over by vice president Kashim Shettima.

The NEC also heard from special presidential committees on flood effect and evaluation, fiscal and tax changes, and the scope of palliative distribution at the sub-national level.

Meanwhile, the federation’s accountant general’s office says that the balance of the extra crude account was 473,754.57 million dollars as of August 31st, 2023.

The balance of the stability account is N34.963 billion Naira, while the balance of the development of natural resources account is N128.330 billion Naira.
