The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory has cleared the air on bandits’ attack at Gwarinpa, Abuja.
Reports had emerged that bandits attacked Genuine Estate after Efab Queens in 6th Avenue, Gwarinpa, in the early hours of Monday between 1 am and 4 am.
It was learnt that the bandits were armed with bows, arrows, and machetes and an unconfirmed number of residents of the estate were kidnapped.
This attack is coming barely hours after Nigerians are yet to come to terms with Sunday’s attack on a Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adeh Josephine, she confirmed that it was most likely not a kidnapping incident.
According to Adeh, it was a robbery incident and not bandits, adding that she was working on it.
She said, “It is most likely not a kidnapping incident. I am working on it and it is not in Gwarinpa, it is in Galadimawa. Am on it right now.
But it is most likely not a kidnap case and it is not bandits, it is just robbers, I am working on it.”
