Who Is Simona Brambilla?
Born on March 27, 1965, in Monza, Italy, Simona Brambilla’s journey in religious service began when she joined the Consolata Missionaries in 1988, making her first profession in 1991.
She holds a doctorate in psychology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, where her research focused on the intersection of evangelization and culture in Mozambique.
Brambilla’s leadership experience spans decades. From 2011 to 2023, she served as Superior General of the women’s branch of the Consolata Missionaries.
In October 2023, she broke new ground as the first female Secretary of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.
