ISWAP terrorists launch deadly attack on military post in Borno

Suspected terrorists from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have carried out a brutal overnight assault on a military outpost in Diffa, Borno State, forcing troops to retreat and briefly infiltrating a densely populated area, according to local sources.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama reported that the attack occurred between midnight on February 14 and the early hours of February 15.

The heavily armed terrorists overwhelmed security forces with automatic weapons, leading to a fierce gun battle.
