
Relatives of the slained professor of Forestry from the University of Ibadan who was shot dead by unknown gunmen in front of his Ojoo residence in Ibadan have called for justice for the soul of the deceased whose killers they say still walk the streets as freemen.
Speaking with AfricanGazette News in Ibadan,they called on security agencies to rise to the occasion and bring perpetrators of this heinous act to book.
They say It’s one painful death that continues to linger in the hearts of family members,colleagues and acquaintances who continue to throng the residence of late Professor of Forestry Opeyemi Issac Ajewole who was shot dead in cold blood in front of his Ojoo home in Ibadan by unknown gunmen on the 5th of June.
Relatives of the deceased are yet to come to terms with the gruesome murder of this academic who was said to have contributed his quota to national development.
A family pastor who spoke to Newsmen Samson Ajetombi said Professor Opeyemi Ajewole is course mate with Nigeria’s Vice president Senator Kasheem Shettima.
Also a colleague to the late professor, Kayode Ogunsanwo was with him few minutes before his last moment on earth.
He said “People familiar with this incident say this is one death too many”
Others kicked against the constant killings of the nation’s best brains.
All they seek for the arrest of the suspected assassins who they feel still walk free.
