House of Reps respond to allegations against Rep. Alex Ikwechegh

The House of Representatives is currently monitoring media reports regarding a serious incident involving Rep. Alex Ikwechegh (APGA, Abia).

These reports have attracted significant media attention, detailing allegations of a physical altercation with an e-hailing driver, Citizen Stephen Abuwatseya, along with claims of threatening language used during the confrontation.

The 10th Assembly emphasizes that such allegations are taken very seriously. As elected representatives, we adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct and accountability in both our professional and private lives.

Any behavior that deviates from these standards is concerning, and we are fully committed to addressing these issues with the seriousness they warrant.

We understand that this matter is now in the hands of the Nigeria Police, and we urge the public to allow the investigation process to proceed without interference.
