
His Excellency, Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State, received the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee led by Prof. Attahiru Jega earlier today in Minna.
In his address, Governor Bago highlighted his administration’s dedication to transforming the livestock sector.
He outlined ongoing efforts in genetic modification, mechanization, and irrigation aimed at enhancing livestock production. The governor emphasized the importance of year-round animal feed availability and invited the committee to collaborate with the state’s livestock development initiatives.
Prof. Attahiru Jega, co-chair of the committee, commended the governor for his progressive steps, particularly the establishment of Ministries for Livestock and Pastoral Affairs.
He stressed the need for strong legal frameworks, technological advancements, and increased investment to bolster livestock development in the state.
