A baby that was spared from her mother’s dying womb after an Israeli airstrike in southern Gaza died, according to information acquired by the BBC.
Sunday night, just after midnight, a Caesarean section was performed to deliver baby Sabreen al-Sakani in a hospital in Rafah.
Doctors used a hand pump to force air into the baby’s lungs while they performed resuscitation in the midst of frantic circumstances.
That being said, she passed away on Thursday and was buried beside her mother, after whom she got her name.
During two airstrikes in Rafah last weekend, 16 children, including Baby Sabreen, were slain. When their apartment building was targeted by artillery fire, everyone within perished.
The infrastructure and militants of Hamas were the targets of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Just before midnight on Saturday, Sabreen’s mother, husband Shukri, and their three-year-old daughter Malak were asleep when the Israeli air hit on the al-Sakani family home occurred. Sabreen’s mother was seven and a half months pregnant at the time.
When emergency professionals arrived at the scene, the baby was still alive within her mother’s womb, despite Sabreen having sustained severe injuries and her husband and Malak having been killed.
They hurried Sabreen to the hospital, where the baby was delivered by an emergency Caesarean section by medical professionals.
After it seemed that Sabreen had stabilized, she was put in an incubator. Doctors characterized her condition as critical at the time.
Mirvat al-Sakani, Sabreen’s maternal grandmother, told the BBC that the family intended to adopt the youngster. (BBC)
