Foundation’s summer program sparks ICT passion in young minds

In a move aimed at fostering youth development and boosting national economic progress, stakeholders have called for early exposure of children to Information Communication Technology (ICT).

The remarks were made during the closing ceremony of the foundation’s second annual free summer program on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with a focus on robotics, held on Friday in Nasarawa State.

According to the Chief Executive of Teens Ambassador, Dr. Paul Adiwu, technology can be a powerful developmental tool for children, offering a range of benefits when used thoughtfully by playing a pivotal role in the lives of young people today, influencing how they learn, communicate, and grow.

He believes that early exposure helps children become familiar with digital tools and platforms, making them more comfortable and adept with technology.

Dr. Adiwu underscored the importance of equipping young people with essential technological skills in today’s digital age; stressing that such training is crucial for addressing various societal challenges.

Also, member representing JOS/ Bassa Federal Constituency in Plateau State, Hon. Daniel Asama as well as the Clerk, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Ikumhe Cornelius applauded the initiative and urged governments worldwide to invest in ICT education for the youth, emphasizing that the modern world increasingly demands technological proficiency.

Participants of the summer program expressed their gratitude to the Teen Ambassador Foundation, highlighting how the training has introduced them to key aspects of computer programming that they are excited to explore further.

The summer program, conducted in collaboration with Net Access, concluded with the presentation of certificates to the 40 trainees who completed the course.

Teens Ambassador provides personalized learning experiences and help children acquire new knowledge and skills at their own pace.
