The Federal Government has reiterated commitment to collaborate with the United Kingdom (UK) on Transnational Higher Education (TNE) to unlock new opportunities for Nigerian students.
The minister of state for education, Dr. Tanko Yusuf Sununu expressed the commitment while receiving the Nigerian UK Steering Committee on Transnational Higher Education in Abuja.
Sununu stated that the capacity of Nigerian universities are not enough to address the demand of students, noting that the transnational education will be the key to ensure Nigerians have access to more education facilities.
In his remarks, the United Kingdom (UK) government International Education Champion, Professor Sir Steve Smith, who disclosed that Nigeria is one among the five countries that UK is deepening relations with, emphasized that the aim of the partnership is to work out modalities on how UK universities can collaborate more with Nigeria as partners towards broadening education.
