Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission, Ginika Tor has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will run an inclusive government.
Mrs Ginika made this known in an Interview with newsmen in Abuja describing the president as a supporter of women who will certainly appoint at least 35 percent of women in his cabinet.
According to her, President Tinubu’s promise of increasing women’s participation in government to at least 35 percent to meet international best standard is non negotiable.
She also spoke on the importance of subsidy removal, insisting that it will yield growth in the nation’s economy.
She said ” the President will of course do the needful owing to the fact that he is a man that has been recognized as someone who is passionate about having women in governance”
“Based on his past antecedents you can see he gave his wife rear opportunity, it’s rear about men where she became senator of this country. He is a man who believes so much that women have got alot to offer and definitely I belive that in making his choice it’s not going to be 50:50 but i am sure we will get our 30 to 35 percent affirmative action this time around owing to the fact that he has done it before “
On subsidy she said ” there is no need pampering anyone anymore, we have been in this for how long where they remove and put it back, so it’s the best time.
” There is no gain without pain. We are patriotic Nigerians and we cannot say Nigeria should be better when we cannot sacrifice as little as that and we have been made to understand what it has done to our community and economy and if we continue like that we can’t move forward.
