Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 58th birthday.
In his statement by Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Levinus Nwabughiogu; Kalu lauded Shettima as a devoted patriot who has made significant contributions to the development of Nigeria.
He highlighted Shettima’s unwavering commitment to combating insecurity and terrorism during his tenure as the Governor of Borno State, particularly during the challenging years of insurgency in the North East.
Kalu also acknowledged Shettima’s impactful legislative work as a Senator representing Borno Central from 2019 to 2023, noting that his efforts greatly improved the lives of his constituents and Nigerians at large.
The Deputy Speaker commended the Vice President for his ongoing dedication to fulfilling the responsibilities of his current office.
He further praised Shettima as a strong advocate for peace, recalling the pivotal role he played in the Peace in South East Project (PISE-P).
Shettima’s attendance at the event in Bende, Abia State on December 29, 2023, as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s representative, was a significant honor, Kalu noted.
Kalu concluded by praying for God’s blessings on Shettima, wishing him many more years of good health and joining friends and well-wishers across the nation in celebrating his birthday.
