In a major step toward fostering regional development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed into law a bill establishing the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC).
The announcement was made by Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, during Tuesday’s plenary session at the Senate chamber. The NCDC is tasked with promoting economic growth, improving infrastructure, and enhancing social welfare across the North-Central states.
This initiative is part of the government’s broader agenda to address regional disparities and ensure balanced development across Nigeria.
By establishing the NCDC, the North-Central region now joins other geopolitical zones, such as the Niger Delta and North-East, which already have dedicated development commissions.
