Breaking…President Tinubu presents N47.9trn 2025 budget to NASS

On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented the N47.9 trillion budget for the 2025 fiscal year to a joint session of the National Assembly at the House of Representatives chamber.

This budget, dubbed “The Restoration Budget,” is a strategic move aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s economy and addressing key national challenges.

A few weeks prior, both chambers of the National Assembly approved the 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP), which outline the total spending plan of N47.9 trillion, alongside a new borrowing target of N9.22 trillion, which will include both domestic and foreign loans.

In his presentation, President Tinubu emphasized that the 2025 appropriation focuses on fostering economic growth, advancing human capital development, tackling poverty, and combating insecurity.

The budget is also structured to promote macroeconomic stability, ensure sustainable development, and support Nigeria’s long-term goals.

Tinubu reiterated that the budget is crucial for securing Nigeria’s ambitions for prosperity, positioning the nation on a path toward stability and growth.
