Bomb blast hits luxury Moscow apartment, killing at least 1

A bomb exploded in the lobby of a luxury apartment complex in Moscow on Monday, killing at least one person and injuring four others, Russian state media reported, citing emergency services.

The attack occurred at the “Scarlet Sails” building, located on the banks of the Moskva River, approximately 12 kilometers (7 miles) from the Kremlin.

According to reports, the blast went off as a man accompanied by bodyguards entered the building’s lobby. Law enforcement sources described the explosion as an “assassination.”

While the identity of the target remained unclear, TASS news agency indicated that the deceased was the man who had entered the building, with several of his bodyguards among the injured.

Russian authorities are continuing their investigation, though no group or individual has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

The bombing has raised concerns over the safety of high-profile individuals in the capital as tensions remain high in the region.
