Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly has 3-match ban overturned

Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly has been cleared to play after an independent regulatory commission overturned his three-match ban.

The ban was imposed following his red card against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

The 18-year-old was sent off in the 43rd minute by referee Michael Oliver for what was deemed serious foul play on Wolves’ Matt Doherty during a counter-attack outside the Wolves’ penalty box. The decision, initially upheld by VAR official Darren England, sparked widespread debate.

Arsenal’s appeal argued the red card was wrongful, and the independent commission agreed, annulling the suspension. The Football Association confirmed the decision, allowing Lewis-Skelly to rejoin the Gunners’ squad without serving the ban.
