Arsenal pulled off a stunning late victory against Leicester City, scoring twice in stoppage time to claim a 4-2 win in a thrilling Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.
A 94th-minute own goal by Wilfred Ndidi and a last-gasp strike from Kai Havertz broke Leicester’s hearts, overturning their spirited second-half comeback.
The Gunners took control early, with Gabriel Martinelli opening the scoring after slotting home a precise cross from Jurrien Timber.
Martinelli continued his impressive display by assisting Leandro Trossard, who doubled Arsenal’s lead just before the break, giving the home side a comfortable cushion heading into halftime.
Leicester, who had shown little attacking threat in the first half, came out fighting after the interval.
Just a minute into the second half, James Justin’s header deflected off Havertz and into the net from a well-delivered Facundo Buonanotte free-kick, cutting Arsenal’s lead in half.
Justin then stunned the Emirates with a brilliant equalizer, volleying in a pinpoint cross from Ndidi to bring the Foxes level.
With momentum on Leicester’s side, Arsenal looked rattled but kept pushing for a winner.
Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen produced two excellent saves, denying Havertz from close range and stopping a powerful shot from Trossard after a defensive mistake.
However, Hermansen’s heroics weren’t enough to stop Arsenal’s late surge. A deflected shot from Trossard off Ndidi gave Arsenal the lead in the 94th minute, and just moments later, Havertz tapped in from close range to seal the victory.
The dramatic win moves Arsenal level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table, while Liverpool will have the chance to overtake both sides if they can beat Wolves in their next match.
