APC wins all 21 chairmanship, 239 councillorship seats in Kogi LG elections

In the local government elections held on October 19, 2024, in Kogi State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured a sweeping victory, winning all 21 chairmanship positions and 239 councillorship seats.

The results were announced in Lokoja by Mr. Mamman Nda-Eri, Chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), who praised the elections as peaceful, transparent, and credible.

“APC performed excellently; it cleared all the chairmanship and councillorship positions, leaving nothing to the other 18 political parties that took part in the election,” Nda-Eri stated.

He further confirmed that the results announced at the KOSIEC headquarters were consistent with those declared by the Returning Officers at various collation centers.

“As Chairman of KOSIEC, I hereby confirm the results earlier collated and returned by the Returning Officers,” he added.

Nda-Eri expressed gratitude to electoral officials, security personnel, observers, and journalists for their contributions, which ensured the smooth conduct of the election.
