
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic ASUP on Tuesday threatened to commence a two week warning strike if government fails to meet it’s demands on or before 16th May, 2022
The threat is coming few days after members of the Academic Staff Union of Nigeria Universities extended their on-going strike to another twelve weeks
Rising from a one day meeting in Abuja, the Polytechnic Lecturers threatened to down tools and commence indefinite strike if after the two week warning strike their demands are not met
Briefing newsmen after the Emergency meeting of the union, National President of ASUP Comrade Anderson Ezeibe reeled out the union’s demands to include: non release of the 15 billion naira revitalization fund approved over eleven months ago and non release of the arrears of the new minimum wage
Comrade Ezeibe however expressed hope that the meeting the union’s executive and the federal government representatives fixed for tomorrow Wednesday may be the last minutes grace that halt the planned strike.
