Ademola Lookman was the star of the show, netting twice as Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match.
Lookman opened the scoring in the first half and doubled his tally in the second, while Victor Osimhen, who came off the bench, added another goal to seal the win.
This victory pushes Nigeria to the top of Group D, strengthening their chances of qualifying for AFCON 2025.
The Super Eagles now turn their attention to their upcoming fixture against Rwanda on Tuesday, September 10, as they aim to solidify their place in the tournament.
