The Kuchibiyu community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was thrown into mourning on Monday, January 6, 2025, following a bomb explosion at an Islamiyyah school that claimed the life of a student and left four others critically injured.
The tragic incident, reported by Premium Times, occurred around noon, disrupting the peace of the quiet community, situated approximately 42 kilometers from Abuja’s city center.
Emergency response teams, including the police bomb disposal squad, quickly arrived at the scene. The injured students were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
Preliminary reports suggest that the deceased student was allegedly carrying a substance suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) when it detonated. However, neither security agencies nor police authorities have issued an official statement regarding the explosion.
